[ARTICLE] Survivor 10, Factor 3

This Sunday, ibang klaseng elimination ang aabangan ng viewers sa ‘StarStruck V.’ Dahil instead of voting to save the contender of their choice, the fans will be voting for the survivors they want eliminated—and the contenders themselves, as well as the council, will be voting with them.

Sa unang Linggo ng 2010, Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana revealed to everyone what Factor 3 is: it is the power of the audience to vote out the contender they want eliminated. At dahil pre-determined non-elimination night ang live episode last January 3, viewers should expect a double elimination next Sunday.

Contender Diva Montelaba tells iGMA.tv after the live show last Sunday na “super unpredictable lahat ng nangyayari sa StarStruck.” And it comes with a very complicated twist.”

Ginagawa ko naman lahat ng makakaya ko sa lahat ng challenges; kaya ayun, I’m just asking for the support of everyone: don’t vote for me, vote for the other survivors for me to stay in this competition.”

The elimination criteria will be as follows: 60% of the score will come from the votes of the audience, 20% will be coming from the council, and 20% will come from the contenders voting each other out.

And this is something different for Enzo Pineda. Isa sa mga strongest contenders when it comes to fan base, Enzo tells iGMA.tv na Factor 3 “is something new to the table. Anything can happen talaga.”

Enzo also tells us na ready na siya to vote someone out: “may nakikita na rin [ako].” Dagdag niya na magkakaibigan daw silang lahat, “pero on camera, it’s a competition.

For the January 11 elimination night, Factors 1 and 2 will be suspended. So kahit malagay sa bottom group sina Ian Batherson at Princess Snell, this will not mean an automatic elimination for them. Pero at the same time, the council will not be able to use their special power to stop the elimination.

Halata ang tuwa ni Ian sa announcement of Factor 3: “It’s better than Factors 1 and 2 for sure.” “Next week, mayroong dalawang matatangal,” he tells us. Pero for now, he shares that he’s just trying to enjoy the fact na magkakasama pa rin sila.

“I will just stay myself, message all my supporters on Facebook.” Diin ng binata, he wants to be as approachable as possible. He even says na if people see him on the streets, or while at the mall, feel free lang daw to approach him. “I’m just a regular guy who was given an awesome opportunity.”

She tells us after the show, “luha ko talaga ‘yung unang lumabas bago ‘yung tuwa.” Nina says getting left behind with fellow survivor Rox Montealegre scared her. “Parang nanlamig ako, akala ko parang babaliktarin—kami ‘yung matatanggal.”

And of course, nandoon ‘yung fear of voting someone else sa darating na elimination night. And that’s why she will base her vote sa attitude: “‘yung ugali ng tao, hindi po mababago ng basta-basta.” If given the choice though, Nina says, “kung puwede lang walang matanggal forever.”

“I expected it na rin,” he admits to iGMA.tv. Nang sabihin raw na Factor 3 will also affect the viewers, “I thought most likely it would be like a vote out from the people, from the survivors and the council.”

Though, inamin sa amin ni Piero na “it’s still a little surreal to think that we have to vote somebody out. I’ll probably vote myself out—I don’t think I can make a decision like that.”

If Piero isn’t ready yet to vote someone out, si Princess Snell ready na.

With the introduction of Factor 3, inamin ni Princess na natutuwa siya. But this is a double-edged sword for Princess, dahil alam rin niyang it could turn the other way.

Meanwhile, Rocco Nacino reveals to iGMA.tv na ang magiging basis niya for voting someone out is their threat sa kanyang career. Kaya naman he’s focusing on who can beat him sa mga challenges.

As for Rox Montealegre, kabado siya sa Factor 3. “Siyempre, kung maraming galit sa ‘yo, e di ikaw ‘yung ivo-vout out nila.” Very interesting daw ang StarStruck kasi one should expect the unexpected talaga. Pero from Rox, she says fans should expect her not to change—even with Factor 3 looming ahead.

She tells us na ever since naman daw, isa lang ang ginagawa niya: “be real lang on television.

“Akala ko, tatlo ‘yung matatanggal or dalawa—so siyempre, nagulat ako.” Sarah thinks the vote out is a good idea: “kasi ‘yung manunuod ang magde-desisyon.

“I have to do my best. Kasi it’s been two weeks na nasa side lang ako, tapos iba ‘yung nasa [spotlight]. Gusto kong umakyat doon.

What’s gonna happen now? Factor 3 is so different—I wasn’t expecting Factor 3 to be like that.”

Dagdag niya, “ngayon the votinig is gonna come from the viewers—and now, it’s sinong gusto mong matanggal. Sobrang shocked ako.”
