[ARTICLE] A new look for the ‘StarStruck V’ Final 14

Last Sunday on ‘StarStruck V,’ na-uncover na ang bagong look ng Final 14 contenders. Image Mentor Abbygale Arenas-de Leon talks to iGMA.tv about the decision making behind the new looks, and the Final 14 contenders themselves give their own opinions. Text by Jason John S. Lim; with Interviews by Erick P. Mataverde. Photos courtesy of GMA Network and Mitch S. Mauricio.

Last Tuesday, Abbygale Arenas-de Leon met up with Barbi Chan, and the creative directors of Toni & Guy 6750 Makati to talk about the StarStruck V makeover. “Nagbalitaktakan kaming lahat,” Miss Abbygale shares with us. “Talagang nag-aaway-away pa kami. And finally, we made some decisions—without considering the talent’s feelings.

“Kasi, what we considered is: the look.” She explains that they didn’t want to consider feelings because it would only hinder them sa pagpili ng magandang look for the contenders. “We’ve considered the personality, the image—not necessarily the feelings. Alam na namin yun e. We know who would say no, but I just have to remind them the experts have decided.”

On the day of the makeover mismo though, last Thursday, umamin sa amin si Miss Abbygale: “Hay! Hindi ako nakatulog kagabi!”

Siyempre, “change is not easy, you know. It’s a big step.” Miss Abbygale says that the contenders are all still very young, and that they’re so comfortable in whatever image they have now. “Everybody wanted to be sweet—and we all know [na] sa pag-aartista, hindi naman puwede lahat maging sweet, ‘di ba? So we are creating images for them.”

While not actually doing any of the cutting, she tells us that her presence at the makeover is one very important thing: “I’m here to pacify them. [To tell them] na, ‘Huwag iiyak! Bawal umiyak!’” Of course Miss Abbygale is just kidding—but not completely. StarStruck V’s Image Mentor says she’s there to explain to them that what they are doing is for the betterment of their image as artistas.

The Final 14 speaks

After their makeovers, kinausap ng iGMA.tv isa-isa ang mga Final 14 contenders. And here’s what they have to say about their new looks:

stars

So nage-enjoy ako.”

Enzo Pineda: “Feel ko, parang bago akong tao. Parang na-rejuvenate ‘yung sarili ko, dahil may bago akong look. I feel fresh.

The hair siguro, kasi parehas kami ng hair. Pero I like everything. E wala akong pinagkakatiwalaan. At the same time, nung nagkaroon nga kami ng test dito, ‘yung makeover and then gusto nilang i-[cut] ‘yung hair ko, pumayag na ako.

Piero Vergara: “I like it. I look fabulous. No, I don’t know. It’s okay. I like it, it’s cool. Sir Nelson [Cruz, creative director of Toni & Guy] cut some parts for me, so it’s awesome. Really awesome. I like it right now. I think it’s good. But I have to memorize how to arrange my hair pa.”

stars

Ganito pala pag boy ‘no? Change is good, sabi nga.”

Steven Silva: “The makeover feels good. It feels almost like I’m a different person. But it’s nice. It’s a fresh feeling. I feel a little conscious, ’cause it looks really different. It’s different from what I’m used to. But I think it looks good—they did a good job on me.”

stars

Zeryl Lim: “It’s really—I love my new look. Honestly! This is the shortest haircut I’ve ever had, so this is something new for me. And I felt like I’ve had such an adult image for so long. I’m really happy about the new look. I asked them to make my hair shorter kasi I’m so bored with long hair. And not just long hair—I really wanted something very wild and striking about my new image.”

Sef Cadayona: “Sobrang, sobra-sobrang masaya. Kasi this is the first time I’ve gotten my hair shortened. Usually puro bangs ako, dahil tinatago ko ‘yung forehead ko and my big ears. But they managed to find a way na ang gandang tignan kahit sobrang iksi. So I’m really pleased.”

stars

Rye Burgos: “I feel good. I love the new look. The one that cut my hair? He’s been cutting hair for 19 years! And he studied in London! So nagustuhan ko talaga. At first, hindi ako nagpapakulay ng buhok, so this is my first time talaga na nagpakulay ako. And I love it. Gustong-gusto ko talaga. Kasi I’ve had the same hair for almost five years na. So first time na iba. And change is good. I can’t say anything else. I love it.”

stars

Sarah Lahbati: “Well, I like it. Kasi it made me look younger. I like the bangs, and I like the hair color, kasi ‘yung bangs ginawang black, so nagmumukhang whiter ‘yung face ko. So I like the makeover. It’s simple pero maganda.”

Rocco Nacino: “Very happy. Although medyo kamukha rin nung hair ko dati, mas neat—nakakatuwa kasi neat and wild at the same time. Tapos ‘yung color niya, parang nakakaputi ba? It’s like dark brown, pero sa ilaw light brown siya. I look better now. Basta masaya ako.”

stars

Kasi, as what you’ve noticed before, hanggang baywang ‘yung buhok ko. And it’s so straight, and so black—so sinabi ng mga experts na I really need to have a new look, kasi halatang-halatang probinsyana ako sa look na ‘yun. And now, they really want to create a Diva na mas may character—mas unique, mas pinago-glow ‘yung pagkamorena ko. So they came up with a very short hair, it’s very, very short. I cried when they cut it. Sobrang haba yun nung pinutol. Pero hindi ako nalulungkot, kasi the short hair is really good. I’m satisfied.

Ian Batherson: “It’s okay. Pero parang—my forehead got a lot bigger. It’s sobrang different. I’m not used to it. I just have to think about it. I just wish this wasn’t happening—no, I just need to get used to it. I like the color, pero I wish they kept it longer. It’s so short—I don’t like it. Kasi they’re going for a rocker look, they should leave it a little longer if it’s a rocker look, am I right? So basically, it’s like short and colored—I don’t understand. I wish my hair grew, like, really fast. But it doesn’t, so I should get used to this look. I just hope people don’t judge me from this new look. Kasi it really wasn’t my idea, but I need to respect my mentors and the staff, so I will try to like it. And it’s okay, I mean. When it grows out a little longer, maybe it won’t be so bad.”

[ARTICLE] Survivor 10, Factor 3

This Sunday, ibang klaseng elimination ang aabangan ng viewers sa ‘StarStruck V.’ Dahil instead of voting to save the contender of their choice, the fans will be voting for the survivors they want eliminated—and the contenders themselves, as well as the council, will be voting with them.

Sa unang Linggo ng 2010, Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana revealed to everyone what Factor 3 is: it is the power of the audience to vote out the contender they want eliminated. At dahil pre-determined non-elimination night ang live episode last January 3, viewers should expect a double elimination next Sunday.

stars

Contender Diva Montelaba tells iGMA.tv after the live show last Sunday na “super unpredictable lahat ng nangyayari sa StarStruck.” And it comes with a very complicated twist.”

Ginagawa ko naman lahat ng makakaya ko sa lahat ng challenges; kaya ayun, I’m just asking for the support of everyone: don’t vote for me, vote for the other survivors for me to stay in this competition.”

The elimination criteria will be as follows: 60% of the score will come from the votes of the audience, 20% will be coming from the council, and 20% will come from the contenders voting each other out.

And this is something different for Enzo Pineda. Isa sa mga strongest contenders when it comes to fan base, Enzo tells iGMA.tv na Factor 3 “is something new to the table. Anything can happen talaga.”

Enzo also tells us na ready na siya to vote someone out: “may nakikita na rin [ako].” Dagdag niya na magkakaibigan daw silang lahat, “pero on camera, it’s a competition.

For the January 11 elimination night, Factors 1 and 2 will be suspended. So kahit malagay sa bottom group sina Ian Batherson at Princess Snell, this will not mean an automatic elimination for them. Pero at the same time, the council will not be able to use their special power to stop the elimination.

Halata ang tuwa ni Ian sa announcement of Factor 3: “It’s better than Factors 1 and 2 for sure.” “Next week, mayroong dalawang matatangal,” he tells us. Pero for now, he shares that he’s just trying to enjoy the fact na magkakasama pa rin sila.

“I will just stay myself, message all my supporters on Facebook.” Diin ng binata, he wants to be as approachable as possible. He even says na if people see him on the streets, or while at the mall, feel free lang daw to approach him. “I’m just a regular guy who was given an awesome opportunity.”

She tells us after the show, “luha ko talaga ‘yung unang lumabas bago ‘yung tuwa.” Nina says getting left behind with fellow survivor Rox Montealegre scared her. “Parang nanlamig ako, akala ko parang babaliktarin—kami ‘yung matatanggal.”

And of course, nandoon ‘yung fear of voting someone else sa darating na elimination night. And that’s why she will base her vote sa attitude: “‘yung ugali ng tao, hindi po mababago ng basta-basta.” If given the choice though, Nina says, “kung puwede lang walang matanggal forever.”

“I expected it na rin,” he admits to iGMA.tv. Nang sabihin raw na Factor 3 will also affect the viewers, “I thought most likely it would be like a vote out from the people, from the survivors and the council.”

Though, inamin sa amin ni Piero na “it’s still a little surreal to think that we have to vote somebody out. I’ll probably vote myself out—I don’t think I can make a decision like that.”

stars

If Piero isn’t ready yet to vote someone out, si Princess Snell ready na.

With the introduction of Factor 3, inamin ni Princess na natutuwa siya. But this is a double-edged sword for Princess, dahil alam rin niyang it could turn the other way.

Meanwhile, Rocco Nacino reveals to iGMA.tv na ang magiging basis niya for voting someone out is their threat sa kanyang career. Kaya naman he’s focusing on who can beat him sa mga challenges.

As for Rox Montealegre, kabado siya sa Factor 3. “Siyempre, kung maraming galit sa ‘yo, e di ikaw ‘yung ivo-vout out nila.” Very interesting daw ang StarStruck kasi one should expect the unexpected talaga. Pero from Rox, she says fans should expect her not to change—even with Factor 3 looming ahead.

She tells us na ever since naman daw, isa lang ang ginagawa niya: “be real lang on television.

“Akala ko, tatlo ‘yung matatanggal or dalawa—so siyempre, nagulat ako.” Sarah thinks the vote out is a good idea: “kasi ‘yung manunuod ang magde-desisyon.

“I have to do my best. Kasi it’s been two weeks na nasa side lang ako, tapos iba ‘yung nasa [spotlight]. Gusto kong umakyat doon.

What’s gonna happen now? Factor 3 is so different—I wasn’t expecting Factor 3 to be like that.”

Dagdag niya, “ngayon the votinig is gonna come from the viewers—and now, it’s sinong gusto mong matanggal. Sobrang shocked ako.”

Who do YOU want eliminated? Just text OUT (space) NAME OF CONTESTANT and send to 2344 for Globe, TM and Sun subscribers, and 367 for Smart and Talk N’ Text users. Each vote costs PhP2.00 for Sun subscribers and PhP2.50 for other networks. (This service is exclusive for the Philippines only.)

[ARTICLE] The Life of the Survivor 6 at StarStruck 1110

For two weeks now, the remaining “StarStruck” survivors have been living under one roof, sa StarStruck 1110. And iGMA.tv has an exclusive scoop on how the survivors are adjusting to their new independent lives and we found out which survivor is extra-happy with this new challenge.

stars

The StarStruck 1110 Reaction

Two weeks ago, the StarStruck survivors were told that they would now be living under one roof, the StarStruck 1110 quarters.

“Kasi matagal-tagal na rin akong naka-hotel,” the Cebuana survivor tells us.

Pareho ito sa sagot nina Sarah Lahbati at Steven Silva who say that nothing much has changed sa kanilang pagtira sa 1110 quarters.

Pag walang magawa, kuwentuhan, nagluluto, so parang bahay-bahayan.”

Pero one of the hotel residents pre-1110, mas masaya ngayon sa kanilang bagong set-up, si Nina Kodaka.

Nina says she really likes that part the most. And the fact na there’s always someone waiting for her when she gets home. “Kapag solo taping, pag-uwi ko, nasa sala sila—ang dami nila: [my] family.”

This is because, Nina explains, when she was still in Japan, lagi raw siyang walang inaabutang tao sa bahay nila.

Enzo is happy to have more responsibilities, and to learn how to be independent while Rocco is happy in getting to know his co-survivors more.

stars

Adjusting to the 1110 life

Enzo shares that his biggest adjustment ngayon ay ang magising ng maaga. “Kailangan kong magising ng maaga kasi we all share the same bathroom.” He explains na ngayon, living with five other people who aren’t his relatives, “You have to be patient, you have to accept their personalities. [And] if you accept their personalities, they’re going to love you as well.”

“I’m still being myself.” Pero he’s also trying to be more understanding, “Dahil iba-iba nga ugali ng mga kasama ko, and kung ano ‘yung habits nila, I have to understand that. So far, it’s working out.”

Si Sarah naman, natutong maging mas considerate. “For example, sa shower, sa hotel [dati], mas may time kami.

Bukod dito, Sarah says she’s also now more comfortable with the boys.

Sabi ni Steven, hanggang ngayon, they are all still adjusting: “It’s still an adjustment period for all of us. Kasi dati, we’re all living in our space, tapos ngayon, we’re all together.” “Everyone’s okay.”

The issues of living together

Kuwento niya, they’ve already done everything they can at the house: fix their things, cook, clean. Dahil bawal silang gumamit ng cellphones at wala pang nagdadala ng laptop at the time, “parang inisip namin, puntahan kaya natin ‘yung room ng boys? Ayun, na-shock sila [ang boys].”

Natatawa si Enzo nang maalala niya ‘yung incident, especially after how some fans reacted to what was found inside his bag.

[It was] hydrogen peroxide. At the same time, nakakatawa siya. Parang, ‘Ha? Ginawa nyo? So kami naman dapat gumawa?’” He adds with a laugh, “Joke lang [yun].”

Feeling the public scrutiny, the two decided to go on a diet na start pa lang, parang pumapalpak na!

stars

No more competition

All of them are one big family now.

Steven says, “Ngayon, mas close kami. Kasi instead of just being together sa GMA, we’re together all the time. And if you’re together all the time, you’re gonna get closer.”

Rocco explains further, “Para sa akin, pag nandoon kami sa StarStruck 1110, we’re enjoying ourselves. Pagdating sa GMA, lahat kami professionals dito.”

[ARTICLE] My5 lets viewers choose their Final V

My5 lets viewers choose their Final V

We asked the Survivor 6 what they think of this new twist, kung saan everyone will pick their own Final V, and why fans should include them in their list.

stars

February 7 was another pre-determined non-elimination night. Instead, Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana announced that the voting will change for the last elimination night of StarStruck V to be held this coming February 14—through My5. Araw man ito ng mga puso, pero for sure may isang puso na siguradong madudurog sa huling elimination night.

Pero last night, everyone was all smile pa rin because they will all spend one more week together as the Survivor 6.

Parang ganito ‘yung nangyari nung last time na na-bottom three ako e.”

And if before, Nina has appealed to people that she wants to win the competition, may panibagong level na ng dahilan si Nina kung bakit ayaw pa niyang ma-eliminate ngayon.

“Ito ‘yung pangarap ko,” Nina says of her StarStruck journey. Pero, she also says, hindi na competition ang tingin niya sa StarStruck. And if she gets into the Final V, she says it would be like a gift for her “na magkakasama pa rin kami. Two weeks pa. Gusto ko pa silang makasama.”

“Ayaw ko nang matapos pa ‘to.”

Si Rocco naman, nagulat sa announcement of My5. “It’s a very unique way of getting the Final V,” ika nga niya. “I hope maisama ako ng mga tao sa mga lists ng Final V nila; and I’m praying talaga.”

This survivor knows na talent continues to play a big part in the competition, kaya naman he reveals that he plans on wowing the crowd again come Sunday.

But Rocco hopes na hindi nga siya ang tinutukoy ng Council, “but starting tonight, I’ll keep [what they said] in mind.”

Admittedly, nangibabaw ang tuwa for Sarah that she be given another chance and one more week, to prove herself.

Next Sunday, binanggit na nina Dennis at Carla that they will announce the second part of Factor V—the same factor that Dingdong Dantes himself mentioned in the primer of StarStruck V last November: it is something that has already come into play, day one pa lang ng competition.

Bilang isang contestant who has been there since Day One, iGMA.tv asked Sarah kung may clue ba siya or theory as to what this particular twist is. “I am clueless,” ang sinagot ni Sarah. She mentioned na inisip raw niya na baka wild card ito, pero because only two weeks are left before the Final Judgment, “inisip ko, maybe hindi rin wild card. So clueless talaga ako.

“Abangan na lang natin sa Sunday.”

The first ones saved

Pre-determined non-elimination night man ang February 7 live episode ng StarStruck V, drama was still drummed up by deeming three survivors safe before announcing that no one would be eliminated. They were: Steven Silva, Diva Montelaba and Enzo Pineda.

Si Enzo, akala raw safe talaga siya.

“I know na this week, lalo na sa mga mentors, I needed to prove myself to them.” Dahil sa mga comments na ibinigay nila sa kanya Enzo was driven to prove na he does deserve to be in the Final Judgment. “I want to show them that I can really do better—that I can step up.

“It’s not a bad thing,” he surmised.

Pero in the end, Diva told us “I still believe na kung para sa akin ‘to, para sa akin ‘to.”

Regarding the non-elimination night naman, Diva is just happy. “Saya kasi walang nawala. Ganoon pa rin: kami-kami pa rin.”

At si Steven, handa na daw dapat siya to say goodbye to someone—or even to everyone. “Kasi akala ko may isang taong matatanggal—that one person would go.” Pero even though no one was eliminated, Steven said “feeling ko, ang lahat ng survivors hindi safe. No one’s safe. Kasi you have to show that you deserve to be here.”

Lalo na ngayon, with the My5 twist.

“Alam ko talaga, this week, I really have to exert myself, really do my best.” “Alam ko, I can keep doing more. Talagang mas kailangan kong mag-improve sa lahat. I still want to do better—keep doing better.”

As in. Pero ngayon, meron na. I’m still learning, but I’m happy kasi I’m really improving.”

“But I know there’s a lot more to do.”

And that last statement from Steven goes for everyone as well. There’s a lot more to do sa huling dalawang linggo ng StarStruck V.

Alamin.

stars

The first question is for Diva Montelaba; tanong ni James Jam, “sa tingin mo, dapat bang makaapekto sa morale ng isang contender ang negative comments ng Council?”

Diva answers, “I think morale is a very heavy word.” “As what they always say, gusto nilang i-bring out ‘yung best ng isang survivor. So ‘yung pagbibigay ng negative comments, binibigay nila to affect us in a positive way—for us to improve, and to give our best.”

Dagdag ni Diva, helpful nga raw sa kanya ang comments ng Council, negative man or positive.

Enzo is quick to defend na hindi siya magiging kampante even if Rocco does get eliminated. “Hindi lang po manalo sa StarStruck ang goal ko,” he reveals to us. “I want to be a great artista some day.”

Let’s say [na] magiging successful po ako someday, of course I will [still] try to push myself more. It does not stop pag nasa peak ka na, [or] nasa prime ka na ng pagiging artista mo. You have to maintain it.” He adds, “kailangan talaga discipline, focus—at hindi lang short-term goals.”

So to clarify, hindi minamaliit ni Enzo sina Ian and Steven—si Rocco lang ang naging benchmark niya dahil ito ang laging nakikitang nage-excel sa kanilang mga challenges.

The third question goes to Nina Kodaka. Prince Jhervy Espiritu wanted to know, “how can you be an action star if kulang ka sa energy? What are the things na pwede mong gawin to improve in that field, na laging kini-question sa iyo ng mga co-StarStruck contenders mo and the Council as well?”

For the next question, Ianatic Khyle wants to ask his idol Ian Batherson: “Hanggang ngayon kasi kinukwestyon pa rin ng mga manunuod at ng StarStruck Council ang talento mo.

Ian says na para sa kanya, he’s okay-rounded when it comes to talent. “You know what I mean? Ian says he’s a very fast learner, citing his Tagalog as an example.

He teases na this Sunday, he’ll be showing off a different set of skills from the ones he has already show. “I’m a very athletic person,” Ian tells us, and he hopes na makita ‘yun ng Council sa kanyang performance this Sunday. “I think there’s hope for me. And to answer Khyle’s question, I’ll show [the Council] something different, and [hopefully] they’ll appreciate it. I hope that answers the question.”

The next StarStruck contender to face a fan question is Rox Montealegre.

“Yung star quality, ‘yung talent, ‘yung talino, ‘yung attitude—lahat [yun], it makes the person whole.” Rox clarifies na hindi puwedeng ma-quantify na dapat more on star quality ang paboran ng Council. “Ano yun? More on looks but less on attitude?” She adds na hindi puwedeng bigyan ng mas maraming importance ang isang factor over the other, “kasi it makes the person whole.” She adds pa na, “too much of everything is bad, ‘di ba? So laging in the middle.”

Rocco Nacino gets a hot question from Prince Jhervy Espiritu, who wanted to know: “Do you believe that your fan base is talagang mababa and those awards lang ‘yung naging dahilan why you stayed in the competition? That means hindi ka mabenta sa public, as per Direk Floy said in the one of the ShoutOuts.”

Rocco replies, “Unang-una, thank you kay Prince Jhervy Espiritu for that question.” He then answers, “siguro like one fan told me sa Facebook, it’s a possibility na iniisip ng fans ko na: ‘Uy, si Rocco kaya naman niya ‘yan. We believe in Rocco, kayang-kaya niya siguro umabot sa Final 4 without our help.’

Rocco says that maybe, “just maybe, that’s the reason kung bakit mababa ‘yung votes ko.

Gusto mo bang may ka-loveteam o gusto mo na solo kang i-build up as an artist?”

For the first question, Sarah says she wants to face Nina Kodaka in the Final Judgment.

Ang last question, for Steven Silva, ay may bahid ng pangiintriga. Boomboomer Cruz asked, “Sino sa tingin mo ‘yung not deserving to be in the Final 8 and why?”

Steven says every one in the Top 8 are really deserving. “Lahat kaming contestants, we went through so many cycles like Top 100, Top 60—” More pa nga raw, he adds, sa kanilang mga nanggaling sa Regional auditions. “So I think, everybody here have a chance, and they’re really deserving, kasi they went through so much.”

He does let slip na before, “there were some people na maybe, hindi deserving, pero maybe StarStruck’s not for them?” But ang bottom line niya, “ang lahat dito sa StarStruck really deserving, kasi we went through so much to be here.”

StarStruck V finalist Enzo Pineda reacts to intrigue that his family's wealth is the only reason he's still in the competition

"For me, it's their opinion," sagot ng 19-year-old showbiz hopeful. "Siguro sa umpisa po, parang, 'Bakit ganun?' Pero, I just have to reflect on things dahil alam ko di naman ganun ang pamilya ko. We're good Christians. But I can't deny na tinutulungan po ako ng buong pamilya ko. Maybe through networking lang or through friends, which I really appreciate. We can't help it also."

Kumbaga, I want to create my own identity. I'm here because I love to perform.

IAN & ROCCO. Among the StarStruck V contenders, sina Ian at Rocco ang masasabing pinaka-outspoken sa opinyon nila na maaaring gamitin ni Enzo ang pagiging mayaman niya para magtagal sa competition. Ano ang masasabi ni Enzo rito?

"For me, I respect their opinion. I don't take it against them dahil sila po yun, e. Kanya-kanya pong... Lahat po ng tao may sariling opinion. You just have to reflect on things.

Even though we're good friends, alam po nila na..."

"Pero for me, it's another challenge in life. And now she's very successful. So it's just another challenge in life, so you always have to be positive lang. You don't have to take it against them dahil it's their opinion. So, kumbaga, gawin mo na lang sa mga performances mo, parang to show that you are worthy in being an artista."

During challenges, nakikita ko po they're really trying their best as well. Lahat po kami. Pero at the end of the day, kahit anong mangyari, magkaibigan pa rin po kami.

I know na may mas magaling sa akin, sa singing or acting. Pero I'm concentrating on myself because I want to improve. I don't compare myself to others because we are all different. Parang I don't have to be somebody else because being yourself makes you different already. I just have to be focused on my purpose and goal."

So, parang moments in terms sa nakapag-usap ng personally, we know each other. So, lahat po kami close."

"Kahit, let's say kay Rocco, competitors kami, lumalabas kami, we still go out, eat.

"It's a competition po. Kailangan maging competitive ka talaga. Ipakita mo. So I don't really take it against them. Kahit sinasabi nilang ganun, 'mayaman', for me, it's just a challenge. Yun. Parang it's not a big deal because alam ko naman yung totoo, e. Yung pamilya ko ipinanganak as good Christians, hindi po namin gagawin 'yan. Kung pag-usapan man or not, hindi po masakit sa loob ko yun dahil alam ko na we're good persons."

ENZO IS IMPROVING.

And, of course, you really have to love what you're doing. For me, nandito ako dahil passion ko talaga. I love to perform. Even though I know some of my talents are raw pa, there's always room for improvement. Pero it's an ongoing process talaga. So, masaya ako," sabi niya.

"Happy ako na nakikita nila yung improvement ko because I've been really working hard to improve," sabi niya. "Hindi lang po si Rocco ang benchmark ko, but also yung other artists like Dingdong Dantes. For me personally, kahit after StarStruck, hindi pa tapos yung pangarap ko. I want to be one of the great artists someday na all-around performer. So, kahit after StarStruck, parang there is always room for improvement."

When you say na si Rocco yung benchmark mo, does it mean na si Rocco rin ang toughest competitor mo?

"Yes. Siya yung toughest competitor ko. So, I have to be better and always improving," sagot niya.

What about Ian and Steven?

"For me, they're also improving talaga."

Do you also see them as tough competitors?

"They are tough competitors. Pero si Rocco po yung nanalo ng award, medyo it shows na he is the one working harder."

"Of course, sobrang kinabahan ako," sambit niya. For some reason na rich kid daw ako. I know na hindi naman mawawala yung issue na ganun, but I just have to... It's their opinion... It's negative on their part na ganun. Pero for me, wala po sa pagkatao ko na magalit or ano. I just take things on a positive side. Dahil wala naman pong mangyayari if magalit ka or ano... Kailangan pinapakita mo sa tao na worthy ka into being an artista or in StarStruck."

"For me, singing talaga," sagot niya.

"First, I'm really sobrang working hard to improve myself. Not just to win. But, of course, sino pong hindi gustong manalo? After, if manalo ako, sobrang blessed ako at the same time, I get more chances into show business to show yung iba ko pang talents. Like someday, I wanna be a singer slash dancer. Pero for now, I really have to concentrate on my singing.
